Your data

Your unit prices are how you win work.

We treat them that way. Here's what we promise, how it's enforced, and every outside service your data touches — in plain English.

Our promises

Three things we will never do

We never bid against you

Nobody at TrenchIQ uses your bids, prices or costs to prepare a bid, price work, advise another contractor, or compete with you in any way. It's in our terms, section 5.

Never pooled, sold or used to train AI

Your numbers are never combined with another contractor's, published — aggregated, anonymized or otherwise — sold, or used to train anyone's AI models.

Yours to take, yours to delete

Your bids, catalog, crew rates and records belong to your company. Ask, and we'll send you a copy in a readable format, or delete it.

How it’s enforced

Built into the database, not just the paperwork

A wall around every company

Every bid, line item, catalog price and crew rate is tied to one company, and the database itself checks that on every single read — not app code that could forget. We test it by signing in as one company and proving it sees nothing of another's.

Our own team is behind the wall too

The TrenchIQ staff console shows a company's name, which features it has on, and counts of activity. It never shows a bid, a price, a cost build-up or a catalog. That includes the contractor TrenchIQ was built with: their account is a customer account like yours.

One person holds the keys

The only way past that wall is direct administration of the database. One person holds it — a TrenchIQ founder who doesn't bid work — and uses it only to keep the service running, fix a problem, or answer a question you asked.

Encrypted, private, backed up

Data is encrypted in transit and at rest. Files you upload — schedules, quotes, receipts — sit in private storage no public link can reach.

Who else touches it

Every outside service, named

TrenchIQ runs on a short list of well-known services. This is all of them, and why each one is there.

Your crew’s location is recorded only at a clock punch, and is never sent to the map service.

Outside services TrenchIQ uses
ServiceWhat it’s for

Google (Gemini)Reads only the documents you choose to upload to the reading features. Not used to train Google's models.
ResendAccount email: invitations, password resets, reports you ask for.
OpenStreetMapDraws the jobsite map and looks up an address you type.
Intuit (QuickBooks)Only if you connect it, and only the employee roster you sync.

Questions contractors ask

Straight answers

Can another contractor on TrenchIQ see my prices?

No. Every company's data is walled off in the database and checked on every read. We test that wall directly.

TrenchIQ was built with a contractor. Can they see my bids?

No. Their company has a customer account like yours, behind the same wall, and no one there has database access.

Do you use my numbers to build price benchmarks?

No. We don't combine your numbers with anyone else's in any form, including anonymized averages.

What does my crew's phone record?

Only where a clock-in, job switch or clock-out happened, once, at that moment — never in the background. The phone asks first, and the punch still saves if they say no.

What happens if I leave?

Ask, and we send you a copy of your data, then delete it. Close your account and everything is deleted within 30 days; backups roll off within 90.

The full commitments are in our Privacy Policy and Terms of Service. Questions: support@trenchbid.com.

TrenchIQ is in a closed beta for contractors who bid unit-price work. Founding Testers get the estimating free, for as long as we offer it.
