- 1
Open Import Bid Schedule
In the bid builder toolbar, click ⬆ Import. (On the project page, ⬆ Upload Bid Schedule on the Bid Summary card does the same thing.)
- 2
Drop in the file
Drag the file onto the box, or click it to choose one. Excel (.xlsx, .xls), CSV, or a PDF with real text all work. A scanned PDF won't — it's a picture of text, not text.
- 3
Match up your columns
Tell TrenchIQ which column holds the Item description (the only one required), and, if the file has them, the Item number, Unit, Quantity and Section / group.
- 4
Choose where the items go
If the file has no section column, pick a section under Add these items to — or + New section… to make one.
- 5
Check the preview and import
Review the Preview table. Where TrenchIQ found a matching item in your catalog it says so; change any match, or pick No match — leave blank. Then click Import.
Tutorial 03
Import a bid schedule from Excel, CSV or PDF
Bring the engineer's bid schedule in as line items — descriptions, units and quantities, in the owner's order — instead of typing it.
Try it on your next bid
TrenchIQ is in a closed beta for contractors who bid unit-price work. Founding Testers get the estimating free, for as long as we offer it.
